Unless you have the eeprom backed up or you have a mod chip, no. You arn't going to be able to just take it out of one box and put it into another. What exactly is wrong with your xbox? Acouple of years ago my dvd drive went on mine. Not knowing how to fix it I went out and bought a new box. Then like 2 years later I found out all I had to do was clean the lense. _________________

Can you take a pic of the motherboard and I can tell you. If not look at the connector where the psu connects to the mobo and tell me how many rows of pins it has and we will go from there.

Ok that means it is not a 1.0 or a 1.1 Here is a pic of a chip on the mobo if it is the same as 1 of the top 2 then it is a 1.2-1.5 and if it is the same as the bottom 1 then it is a 1.6

Yeah the 1.0-1.1 only have 1 row of pins. The 1.6 has 2 rows but it will only for a 1.6. So you need a PSU from a 1.2-1.5 in order for it to work.
