I know you've all heard it before, softmod gone wrong, error 16 now, etc. I have no backups of the eeprom so I do not have the password. I created a floppy of ATAPWD and something else from llamma.com (http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Unlocking%20Seagate%20Xbox%20Hard%20Drive.htm)
I cannot figure out how to boot with a floppy on Windows 2000. All I did was drag and drop the files I needed to two seperate floppy disks (one for each program) in order to create the disk. I believe all floppy's are automatically bootable so I can hopefully fix it. I can figure out how to boot to an A:\ drive to fix my xbox using Windows 2000!
If anyone has any suggestions on other unlocking tools without a password (or how to retrieve the password) it would be great, or just help me on how to boot to a floppy with Windows 2000.

Yes I know, that's why I'm using the floppies, I also figured out floppies are not automatically bootable. How can I put ATAPWD on there as well as make it boot up?

If you have read the hotswap tutorial, you would have seen that your need xboxhdm v1.9 along with a few other files. The whole process take about 15 minutes....not 30 like the other, outdated procedure.

I'm sorry, I should of explained myself in more depth.
I already have HDM and have attempted hotswapping. I cannot get my hard drive to unlock due to the "removal" (well not really lol) of the DVD drive. I start up HDM after it goes to the error (I can't tell what it is because the Xbox is not hooked up to a TV.) I go through all the steps, but then when I go to the 1-8 options, it says 1-5 (or something like that) are disabled because my hard drive is locked.
Edit: I just tried it again and it unlocked! However, my C files are .bin files (I got them from the AID folder) and cannot be installed. Is there any modded dashboard or M$ dashboard I could have the C files to?
Edit again : I found a download for ms dash, I don't know how recent it is, but I don't care. I'm going to burn a new hdm in the morning and I will report back with the results!
