I got my xbox modded in 05 and i haven't done anything to it since then and i don't know where to start for updates any suggestions ? plz help

You should d/l AID 3.10. It's the most current of auto installers as of yet. DJB will be releasing 4 in the near future, but no definite date right now.

The only things I can think of updating would be Dvd2xbox and XBMC.
