I can't get it to display my roms or even be able to select them. I loaded everything into the roms directory in the emu's directory itself. When I loaded it, it showed one of the games and that was it. The next time I went in, there were no games displayed. The menus are so limited within the program that I can't find a way to manually redirect the program to my roms.

Any Ideas?

Surreal is very fussy about where the ROM's are stored. They will need to be placed in F:\ROMS

After that has been done, fire up Surreal and they won't appear yet. Down in the bottom right, there's a button with a curvy arrow in it. Click it. Your ROM's should now appear in Surreal's main menu.

NOTE: If you've changed or attempted to change the ROM directory in any of Surreal's files, just set them back to F:\ROMS and you'll be ok.

at the emulator screen when it boots up i just hit "y" and it updates your rom list.

your roms wont show up until you do this.

Neither suggestion worked. My default rom path is F:\Games\Roms. That is what is listed in the .ini file. I tried putting a couple roms there, and it don't work. I edited the .ini to F:\Roms and put a few there, and it still doesn't work. It also has a roms directory in the emu folder itself. F:\Apps\Emulators\N64\Roms That is where I had the one game appear for one short instant. There was also a .txt file there that said put your roms here. I think in trying to figure it out, I deleted that file. Is it important? If so, can someone point me in the direction to get a new one? My ftp server doesn't have a wastebasket/file recovery.

Alright. I just downloaded the latest version of surreal and now I have my game list. Everything shows up, but when I select any of them to play, I get the loading screen, the progress bar goes up and then bam. black screen.. This happens with any game I try to load.

I have Surreal v1.0, installed in F:\Emulators and ROM's located in F:\ROMS

My Surreal.ini says:
Rom Path=F:\ROMS\
Media Path=D:\Media\

After firing up Surreal and clicking refresh icon in bottom right (curvy arrow), all ROM's appear with their respective box arts. Check which version you're using.

Surreal v4.9 is the newly installed one. 1.0 was the one that didn't work for me.

So you say it gets to 100%, then goes black?

What format are the ROM's in? Also, can I get full details of where your emulator, roms and media are located?
