Hi
I had a working modded XBOX that I was very happy with. I had it installed t run XBMC on startup. I have a Version 1.0(a) XBox and it was modded with the first mod chip that came out - unfortunately I did not mod it.
Everything was going well until the IMDB changed their layout. Ever since then I did not get all the info I needed when querying a movie
I downloaded a new version of the XBMC and tried to install it. What happened was that I had a machine that just booted into the splash screen (XBMC was displayed) and that was all. I then used Slayers 2.7 CD and now everything is buggered up.
I have downloaded your installer CD and can boot with it. All the installers seem to work perfectly (they run without any error messages) and I can even start XBMC from the CD. The only problem I have is that when I remove the CD and reboot the XBox I boot into the MS-Dashboard. No matter what I do I cannot seem to get the XBox to Boot from the C:-Drive. I used to get a loading screen (the X box logo) that did not have the word Microsoft underneath it - I think it said something along the lines of Xecutor?
I assume that I need to replace the BIOS so that the XBox boots into EvoX again - I think I can get XBMC to boot automatically from there. Or is it just the xboxdash.xbe that needs to be changed?
I do not know which Mod chip I have installed (but I do have one installed - it is not a soft-mod) - it was one of the first ones out here in Europe.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated ;o)
Thanking you in advance

Hi hell_netactive,
Sounds to me like you are running a enigmah-x modchip or one of the 1st gen mods which the bios may not be able to be updated..
If this is the case a simple rename of the xbox media center (XBMC) to default.xbe file should work just fine.. What i would suggest is just to rename the main dashboard file of XBMC to: default.xbe
When AID install's it only support the newer bioses and doesnt think about really old stuff..
btw. With AID in your DVDDRive you should be able to ftp into the xbox directly and edit.. Either way with your modchip installed you will always be able to reinstall the M$ Dashboard or whatever you want in case you get a error.
