I've got a 1.0 xbox chipped with Matrix Lite - it has a SST49LF020 flashrom. I've tried enabling LBA 48 but have not suceeded in flashing it with a new bios. I cant disable the flash protection.
Now i',m looking for another way to handle this. Would it be possible to softmod this xbox (although it has a chip)? Has this been done before?

yes, its been done but with problems.. your best bet is to either remove the chip and softmod or even easier buy a new good chip and flash it. Like an X3 _________________ (2) XBOX v1.4:

Thanks. One question: If I install a softmod, then I sould be able to utilize my 250 GB harddrive. I guess I'll have to reformat it. But wouldn't that erase the softmod?
