Ok the time has come now and I have all the tools and the write-ups and I think I will be fine...but any helpful hints would be great. I know first to backup the MS dash and then backup the eeprom...then install a dash. Now here is what I find alittle off is in the write-ups, some state back up the ms dash and then install EvoX to backup the eeprom? Or will this Sid4.5 backup the eeprom for me and then I can install a better dash unleash? _________________ The mighty V6 Passat came to chew bubble gum and kick%^* and shes all out of bubble gum!

sid wont let you install a new dash without backing up both the ms dash nad eeprom.

You will have to tell it to Backup MSdash then eeprom then install the unleashx dash...

And eeprom will be in UDATA file in a file called 21585554

LOL...golden...I never would have found that eeprom if you didn't tell me..I have done a ton of chips and the backup is eeprom with those.
