I was trying to softmod a newly acquired xbox today with my trusty ol' SID 3.1 using splinter cell, I boot the linux gamesave, and it brings up the 'customer service' screen, with the error 21 in the corner.
Can anyone tell me what this means, and how to fix it? I wanna get unleashX running without putting in a pesky modchip.

Can you still boot the splinter cell game (power up the xbox with the game in the dvd drive) ? If so, just ftp in your original dash files to your c drive and start over.
no dude, what I'm saying is when I select checkpoints from the loading screen on splinter cell, It brings up error 21, The xbox files on C haven't been touched yet...
I'll try it with SID 4.5 just in case my box is being fussy.

This was happening to me once and I simply chose a different auto installer and it worked fine.
