Ok I have 3 dvd I just got, Beerfest, X-3, and superman. Now I DVD2Xbox and well the two play ok...but Beerfest plays choppy and you can't see the pic at all. Is this because of XBMC? or Dvd2Xbox? or my DVD drive not reading the files correctly? Now I am thinking the top two and not the third one...for X3 started actiong up half way in and I stop it...reboot and picked the chapter it stoped at and the back up played fine. So Superman is fine without any iusses X 3 the menu is shot and sometimes the vid plays ok and sometimes it doesn't and Beerfest is toast. What do the master thing about this one...is it a XBMC glich or a Dvd2Xbox glitch

Dont get me wrong but does dvd2xbox support ripping to avi or divx etc etc yet?? Otherwise i wouldnt be bothered using dvd2xbox for dvd movie backups.. Sad

I would use a DVD2AVI converter and then just dump the files over to your xbox.???

I have several friends who dump their dvd's on their xbox hdd so they can watch whenever but it soon fills up the hdd.. A bit of a waste i feel.

anwyay, just my 2 cents.

There are many apps which can produce exactly the same 700mb files using divx/xvid and mp3 compression.. It really doesnt take too long to convert either on a fairly fast pc..

Its been a while for me but i used to use a FREE program called DVD2AVI which automatically converted the movie to DIVX.. Then you can just ftp the file over.

yupyup..

You just need to play with the options of it..
You will want to set the bitrate to something like 1000..

Its been ages for me but i can guarantee you there are plenty of programs that can do this and very near if not dvd quality.

cheers,

Hmmm...I just checked after work and wow..I have the DVD's and well I am going on a trip here for a few days...In a hotel for a few days in another state. I just want to chill out and watch a movie..not in the gaming mood. Thats why but I also have a 250 and have over 150 gbs left so the room doesn't worry me so much for I will just delete them when back (I have the DVD so no biggy).

if hdd space is a concern convert to mp4 xbmc reads this format and it takes a 700mb movie and terns it in to a 300mb or less with the same quality just find a prog that converts avi for a psp and your good there's a lot out there for free i got clerks 2 from 699mb to 150mb its a huge difference in size and its not a noticeable difference in quality i have a wifimax for my psp so i got the maxmedia software and i found out that xbmc can read mp4 cus i had psp videos in the same folder as other vids
