Well my friend has a 360 and we've looked into this. Besides the whole add leds and such. You can flash the firmware of your dvd drive to play backups their are a couple of chips out on the market but nothing to make a fuss about heres one http://www.foundmy.com/oscom/product_info.php?products_id=207

other than backups and superficial mods thats about it. If you want to flash your firmware I know a great vid to show you how.
