Hi there i have just got my new clear limited edition xbox and installed
DUOx2 chip and a 300gb HDD also i have a 2nd xbox a black 1 and has
a stuff dvd rom drive in it and was wanting to no if i can tak it out and
just install a 2nd HDD like have to 2 300gb HDDs inthe one xbox.
Was thinking of useing the black one that has the 2 big HDD in it
networked to the clear one and have black one as like a server.
I no there is the Tender Case Extender to have the standed HDD and
dvd drive and 2 xtra drives but dont want it.
Any help would be good or if you no of any tutorials post them please?

The photo is of the Tender Case Extender and it has a 3 bottems with leds for each HDD.
But i dont want to get that was wanting to no if you can take the dvd drive out of xbox and install a 2nd HDD. Using the dvd drive IDE cable and a Y power slitter on the power cable to the 2nd HDD.
Would it show up on the xbox?

you cant run two harddrives at the same time if thats what your getting at _________________

yeh just replace dvd drive with a hdd.

you still have to switch from harddrive to harddrive and you also need a modchip in the xbox to run it with out the dvd drive. _________________

yeh xbox is chipped. so is could work if i had a swith in it would the swiht have to be on the y splitter cable?

I have got all the parts now for the HDD's and also a fan that im going to install to.
Parts are:
2x Fan Power Splitter $3.00 each
1x 60mm slim fan $7.98 each
1x ON/ON switch $4.18 each
2 meters of wire $1.50
1.2 meters of heatsrink $2.95
Will update you all soon as i get my mod chip in mail should be here today or tomorrow.

Ok made the power cable with swith on it for the 2 HDD's allso have a fan plug on it to for the 2nd fan im installing into the xbox to. i also have found a place to put the switch and had to cut my HDD holder vent hole bigger as the new cables got to jamed up but fixed it. waiting till i get my chip and install it then next step be unlock HDD and use the AID cd on it and then run it on the other hdd 2 as its unlocked already.

photo of my slim case. still got to remove controller ports fill them up flat. going to install a dvd sensor in the front and hardwire a wireless controller senor inside the xbox to. Thats if I dont install a mini client PC in it still havent worked out wait im going to do as dont have lot of $$$ at moment bloody Xmas.
