Was it softmodded or does it have a modchip. If it was softmodded, most likely the seals on the bottom aren't broken, (the holes to access the screws.) unless the hard drive has been upgraded.
it was soft modded. it works great but i would rather xbmc loaded if possible. i would like to put in a 300 gig drive but after reading here what is involved i may think twice. im not that bright

and a couple of file rewrites will do it
but not for the faint hearted if you have no knowledge

hey man, try downloading AID 3.10, not only will it accomplish your need of XBMC but it will also do all kinds of other things for you!!! yep. still loads evox. i borrowed a copy of this program but no longer have it in my posession. i dont know where to get a copy now so i will have to leave it as is

If You can FTP into your xbox it is pretty simple. Get a copy of XBMC, and just overwrite the files in E:/Dashboard/ with the Files From XBMC. Thats How I Went From Evox to XBMC, And how i upgrade my XBMC.
Here's A Website that I used to walk me trough it when I first Modded, you can skip to number 7 though.
