I've softmodded my xbox with SID 4.5 and now i want to install a bigger harddrive. I followed the tut that explains how to do it with xboxhdm and a pc. I backed everything up and burnt the iso with the backups and my eeprom. I formatted the drive and told it to use C and E off the disk. Heres the snag, when i go to lock the harddrive i type in lockhd -a and then it gives me some error about turning off automatic detection in my ide bios settings or something. Any help or explanation would be appreciated.
Edit: Oh the harddrive is a 250 gig WD2500JBRTL

I tried looking for it earlier but couldnt find out how to turn it off. Care to point me in the right direction? and once i turn it off will it let me lock the HDD? (nice to see another juggalo too )

u will need to go into your bios on your PC, also i dont know why u cant lock it. If you cant find it try a different PC, all it needs is DVD/CD drive(wichever you need) and the parts to make it run! Doesnt need anything else _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

Right on, i'll do that. I also just read "To avoid hd freezing, connect your hd after your pc bios has been loaded." somewhere on xbox scene.

haha i got it its all about timing. Couldnt find any ide settings i could change in the bios (pc is an hp read in that same forum earlier compaqs have trouble using xbhdm) but there is that brief time where its loading the disc that gives you plenty of time to plug up the drive. anyway time to crack open the box and throw the hdd in now, thanks for the help man.
