Need to know how to make xboxhdm 1.9 to look for the eeprom from the A:\ drive.
That way I can unlock the HD with the original eeprom for xbox #1 and then lock the HD with xbox #2 eeprom.
Also, do can the default c:\ files in xboxhdm be used for ALL xboxes or does it have to be the one for that xbox?

c is same foe all xboxs, and wen u try and lock it choose "choose path for eeprom" and just type in A:/ and if its in a folder then put the folder after it.
My goal is to make one iso disk for larger HD and then just use a Floppy A:\ to store the eeprom to. That way I don't have to make an iso for every xbox I upgrade to.

Now xboxhd 1.9 has a menu option 3 for locking / unlocking HD. Where is the option for selecting the drive containing the eeprom?
Also, When making the iso, do I just leave the eeprom folder empty?

well the normal way of making a bigger hard drive is to put a working ms dash on to C ( not .rar) pirrup has the latest build which is 5960 . and eeprom is put on eeprom folder then you just burn the iso and it fits on a cdr if you just use eeprom and ms dash .... E can be empty so theirs no harm in leaveing it blank _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions

Yes but you can just use the power from one of your pc drives to power it without a splitter.

That is your opinion I think chimp is easier and faster and that is my opinion. No disrespect. It is recommended by alot of people here as long as your Xbox is not a 1.6.

AID manual
Hard Drive Cloning using Chimp
Hardware Needed:
- Y Power splitter (or use an external power source for the second HD, like another PC or external disk box etc.)
- Torx 10, 15, 20 Screwdrivers to open Xbox and replace the HD
Software Needed:
- Chimp (installed as an app)
Steps:
1. Open the box with the Torx 20 Screwdriver.
2. Use the Y splitter so both Hard Drives would have power when Xbox is on.
3. Loosen the DVD's IDE, but must still be bootable (it minimize the remove chance of IDE damaging as it is really not designed for hotplugging).
4. Boot Xbox.
5. Launch chimp.
6. Swap the IDE cable from DVD to the new HD.
7. Follow the menu (the first item must be run before others).
Xbox 1.6 problems?
If you have a 1.6 box and you can't see the Linux prog (graphics). In that case, you need to telnet into it, the menu will be same.

I've done two 320g hd using xboxhdm 1.9 but had to make an iso for each HD. It was quite easy but again I am still learning.
I maybe doing a 3rd HD. From what I've read ... and I'll give it a try ... is that if the EEPROM folder is empty then xboxhdm 1.9 will look for the eeprom on the A:\ drive. I have not tested this so I am enquiring if anyone as done it.
Perhaps I used the default C: files on xboxhdm1.9 that probably had NO copyright info and that's why my second attempt at upgrading failed.
So this is the plan:
Copy a working M$ dash on to the C:\
Keep the EEProm folder empty
Keep the E:\ folder empty
Burn an iso of the above and have a formatted Floppy.
Correct ....

you could try that method but why not just put the eeprom on its folder ? burner it sounds more complicated then it is plus cloneing can take time depending on how much info you have when you can just ftp once you have new hd and transfer that way faster.... plus it might possibly cause data loss in attempt to lossen cable while copying???? i think ill pass .... _________________ |FTP|Useful Links| softmod vs hardmod questions
