We'll get you fixed up.

First, can you FTP into your box? If you can, you're golden!

Now, i'm a little confused.... it sounds like you're having trouble with a disc, but I'm not sure what disc it is. It sounds like youre saying you CAN boot your auto-installer disc?

What autoinstaller are you using?

Have you used the autoinstaller to install EvoX dashboard?

Our autoinstaller is already in .ISO format...thank you DJB!!

So, you can burn the .ISO to media that your xbox is capable of booting up. Nero would be fine!! If your modchip is properly flashed, then it should boot the disk no problem.

Keep in mind that different DVD drives are capable of reading different types of media.

If you have a samsung, it will friggin read 8 track tapes!!

If you have a Phillips, it's a little more picky...

If you have a Thompson, it is very picky about what media you burn to.

Once you have the autoinstaller capable of loading then just follow the prompts and install Evolution X first, then your apps, the reinstall MS Dash if you need. Don't forget to lock the HD (that is if you installed a new one)

Anyway, the first step is definitely getting the xbox to read your Autoinstaller disk. In most cases this is the most difficult part of your mod.

Keep me posted

Well, if you plan on only running with a stock HD then you can run the autoinstaller on it.

If you are DEFINITELY replacing the HD with a larger one, then you want to run the autoinstaller on it.

The installer has selections to format both Retail and Large HD's.

There is no sense in formatting and running the installer on the retail HD if you are just going to take it out and put a new one it, unless of course you aren't putting your new one in right away.

Are you asking "How do I burn a disc to run the autoinstaller"? If you have the the xISO, you, basically, just burn/finalize the disc.

I'm not sure what you mean about using "using nero data disk like a portable hard drive". In Nero, you don't want to choose the Boot DVD-ROM option (maybe I misunderstood what you meant by 'bootable disk option").

If you made the disc properly and it doesn't work, you may need to change your media. What DVD drive do you have? My Thompson has LOTS of troubles with burned discs, but my Phillips doesn't. When I have to flash the chip with a new BIOS, I make sure the Xbox has the Phillips drive in it. RealMcCloy has had some sucess with 8-track tapes in his Samsung, but he does tend to exaggerate a bit. I can't even get plain old audio tapes to work in the Phillips!

You are using CD-RWs, not CD-Rs, right? Some DVD drives will read CD-Rs, but many won't. I use Maxell CD-RWs & Memorex CD-RWs.

If you are using Nero, you choose for it to burn a CD ISO, and choose the autoinstaller xISO... have it burn this on your CD-RW...

What drive do you have? Thompson?

Hey bud, since you are from Ohio and me being from PA if you still have difficulties I can mail you out a DVD+R with the autoinstaller or whatever you need. If you want, just let me know. You can email me at service@themodgod.com or sales@themodgod.com or even at realmccloy@xbox-hq.com

I'll mail it standard first class USPS if you want it. Or, if you are in a super hurry I'll overnight it, but I would need you to reimburse me for that. I am not worried about the DVD+R as I get those in bulk, but the 13.65 for the actual overnight charge would need to be reimbursed.

Let me know if you need.

Later bud
