So this seems to be my turn now to install a larger HDD. I´ve found Slayers Evox 2.7and a 120GB Maxtor HDD and the tools needed. I´ve allready modded my xbox some years ago, so it should be a walk in the park.

But NO!!!!!!!!!!

When booting with my new HDD I get as espected red light, but when inserting Slayers.........nothing happens, and the dvd works, I´ve tried it on the old drive, just 10min before.

My Xbox claim to be needing service. Aint that some!

Solutions?

Yes, and here´s the lay of the land:

Slayers auto installer - NILL

Auto-Installer Deluxe v3.0 - NILL

Each of them reports my bios ver. to be : unknown, even after update, weird!

And nomather what I do, my Xbox keeps demanding service when using the large drive. BUT NOT WHEN USING THE ORIGINAL DRIVE

I´ve now flashed my tsop from the slayers cd(using my old HDD), and the bios ver. is now XS 49 77FC

But when using any new HDD, and I´ve tried a 120GB 166, and a 6GB 100, the XBOX still reports error. This time however a more humorous error.

UPS SOMETHING WENT WRONG

Do I need to unlock the HDD before changing the drive?

Error 16 is a dashboard error, usually means the xbox can't find the dash files needed to set the system clock.

you need to flash a hacked bios to the modchip in order to boot either slayers or AID. which bios are you using. Launching the retail kernel will not boot unsigned code
