Can you cold boot games? Put the game in the tray, power off, and power back on. If the game can boot you should be able to fix this pretty easy.

Are you leaving it powered by the xbox, the xbox on, and the drive on the primary IDE channel and set to master. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

The PC HDD shouldn't connected at all, or you chance erasing the PC HDD. The xbox HDD should be the only one connected to the PC, and should should be jumpered as master _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

And jumping as master means to pull out the little pin connecter.

It means to put the connect on the pins in the right configuration. Check the drive casing, it should say on that how to connect it _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Do you have the HDD jumpered to master and on the primary IDE channel? You want to have the CD rom on the secondary channel. When you boot the bios should detect the drives and tell you what channel they're on. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
