I have a second hand Xbox. When it boots up it shows error 06. I can't access anything. I don't know what the Eprom / hard drive password is. I have tried utilities HDUNLOCK and ATAPWD but without the password I am locked out.
Is there any hope of using this XBox ?

Hotswap which is really hard if you don't know anything, or chip it which I always push for. You can get a chip solderless and your set to go

Follow that tutorial to the LETTER. DO NOT Skip a step unless it says to. If you follow this, it will return your xbox's C drive to stock and you can follow the SID instructions to softmod it. If that doesn't work (which there is a chance it might not) you'll need to get a chip of some kind, or build the eeprom reader found here:
