I have a softmodded xbox that i modded through hot swapping with my pc.

It was working fine until a few days ago.

It wont switch on unless I hold the power button in for a while or tap it repeatedly 4 or 5 times. It will switch on with steady green light and nothing on the TV. After about 20 seconds it switches off. Sometimes it switches back on automatically without the fan turning. Still no picture though.

When it was working the green light would change to orange but now it flashes between orange and green before switching off. I have tested the power supply and it is providing 5 and 12 volts so I dont think that is the problem. I have searched everywhere in the forum and haven't found anything.

Can someone give me some advice as to what the problem might be?

Thanks!

I've tried a different video cable.. no difference. It switches on and off 3 times and then it starts with the red green cycling led,... 3 seconds green 3 seconds red 3 seconds green and so on. I've tried a different power cable too.. still the same thing. The TV stays BLUE so its not getting any signal from the xbox. its all very wierd.

but it doesn't even switch on though. Unless I hold the button in. Does it check the TSOP before it even powers up?

im not understanding why you say you need to hold the power down, did you check the board for short circuts or blone caps, the blue sceen and red green flashing is a sign of tsop failure, you may just need some one to look at the system for you it is hard to say, what is wrong, as you fisrt said it was flashing orange and green, which means video problem, does it boot 3 times then go red/green flashing, if so then its a xmas frag is what it is called. which is the tsop problem, did the box get dropped, what happened to cause this, i can look at if for you if you send it to me, and if i can repair it, ill call you

just visit my site for the form to send with the xbox,

the site link its under my sig.

I would love to send it to you for repair but I live in the UK so it wouldn't be feasible. Thanks anyway. I think I will buy a mod chip and see what happens.

Thanks for your help though.
