I have 2 xbox's and I need to transfer files from 1 xbox to the other. They are both modded.
How would I go about doing this? Could I just use a crossover cable and plug it into both xbox's and use XBMC to transfer the files?
Any help is appreciated.

Hi pspcoder,
Thats exactly what i was going to suggest.
Just have them both running XBMC and use a crossover cable.
The latest XBMC will auto find the other xbox as long as you have all the ip address info setup perfect..
Then you can transfer without using a pc.
Another way would be to do FTP 2 FTP transfer using your pc..

Not sure whats going wrong with you but ill state what I do when using my router to connect between two xbox's and transfer files.....first off i use standard cables(cat 5 or cat 6) to connect to the router not crossover (patch) cables....then i use a program called xbox ftp or something like that which was included with aid....i then leave the one xbox on the dashboard screen (not boot screen) and then with the other i run the program and input the ip for the other box (typically i do this in my friends box so it saves and they connect to mine since its a pain to input for different people but my ip always stays the same)...then bam, i can copy from one box to another...the program is a little old school and a pain to figure out at first but it works for me everytime...later.
btw, i never have to use anything other than the ip _________________ Xbox V1.6

Have you tried that program and set each box to static using your crossover cable? _________________ Xbox V1.6

Is XBMC your dash, if not then set each box to static in the system settings. Ex. I run evox which i can change the system settings from static to dhcp and i can also do it in xbmc and on my xenium start up screen....might want to double check and make sure all areas say static...either way im sure you will get it soon...later. _________________ Xbox V1.6

Yup, XBMC is the default Dash on both xbox's. Thanks for the help, but I cant seem to get them to connect, so I'm just gonna go about it the hard way and transfer the files to my computer, then from there, to the other xbox.
Thanks!

ok when doing file transfer between two xbox your gonna have to use a router. your router will give it the ip. you should also use flash fxp. Use the Fxp option connect type in the ip of both and connect then you can transfer the files. with out the router u wont have an ip. you could try using a crossover from xbox to xbox and using xboxftp but im not sure that will work. also both xboxs have to be modded.
