Hi
My orginal xbox is hardware moded, what I want to do is play multimedia on my xbox over my network. in other words, play my files from a network drive. What is the best way of doing this? the xbox came with XBMC and avalaunch installed.
Should I install something? I just need the xbox to access my network, ATM it only sees the xbox drives, but the xbox works fine over the internet as it does its updates and downloads the usual graphics while running XBMC and AVAlaunch., so the network connection is fine.

I have my xbox networked to my network at home, the xbox is hardward modded.
I want to be able to play my videos {avi's} from my server on my xbox, I had to install windows media connect to do this, but for some odd reason, while playing the videos and at random times, the video stops because I lose the network connection.
Im using xbmc, is there a way of playing the files over the network without using windows media connect, can I just connect as if it were another computer with windows media connect installed on my server ?
Maybe I just have the setup on the xbox wrong ? although it looks like its setup correctly.

If you want to avoid windows networking install a PC app called ccxgui. It will let you stream through the xbms protocol. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
