Wa hey,,
Just stuffed my xbox (temporarly) but not so sure how, maybe someone could enlighten me, as they do say, you learn by yor mistakes.
I had Evox as my dash, but decided to install XBMC from the AID disk which went ok, but still booted to evox.
Browsed to the XBMC folder to run the app, but it failed, so decided to play with the diff dash's on the AID cd and installed Avalaunch.
Used DVD2XBOX to rip a game to disk, where it failed and aborted. Re-installed Evox, but still booted to Avalaunch, so using FTP i copied all the folders and files from the C partition to my pc, then deleted them from the xbox with a view to use AID to see if i could rebuild.
Reinstalled Evox (twice), but took forever to display screen, so removed Evox again via ftp.
Now AID boots to the splash screen, fires an error in green so fast i cant capture it, then reboots and wont load again until a hard boot, then just re-cycles as before.
If i boot without AID it loads a blue dash with options on the right but is so very very slow, too slow to do anything, and as the screen changes i can hear the disk read click by click, and ftp not working either.
I wouldnt be too bothered if the AID would boot, but thats the problem.
I have tried both BIOS banks, and both the same issue, and i dont think its the physical disk, as 20 mins before i jerked about all was fine.

What bioses are you running? And by you saying "both bioses" I assume one of them isn't FlashBios?
Is the drive locked? If it is and you have the eeprom.bin file, or its not, you can repair the files on the xbox with xboxhdm. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Sorry, i meant both bios banks, which have x2 5035.
Anyway, i have put the stock HD back in and it works fine, it boots AID and evox, so i presume its the HD thats causing the problems, or should i say the file system.
I took it out an hooked it my pc, but yeah its locked, and i cant run any app on the xbox as with that drive in, AID wont boot.
I thought was designed to boot no matter what the state of the HD.
I have xboxhdm, but how do i get it on the xbox?

The drive may be ok. With the stock drive, you will need to get the eeprom.bin file from the stock drive and use it with xboxhdm to unlock the larger drive _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

I have the backup i created and ftp'd to my pc, so yeah i have the eeprom and the hd password, so will attempt to unlock it, then use xboxhdm to rebuild if poss.
I only need the save games, the rest can go.
The disk thing is worrying though, i'm not too sure what could have caused it to run so slow, and im almost certain its the slow read/write disk I/O thats causing AID to error out.
If the disk is screwed, then something i did has done it.
Gonna use my pc to unlock the disk, as my bios reports its locked and asks for a password.
Here goes nothing.

Yup, the reason why AID failed to work is cos the disk is screwed.
Just so im straight on this though, does AID cache its files to the HD? _________________ XBOX v1.5

More than likely. I noticed that UnleashX(what AID is based on) does take advantage of the cache. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Well explains why AID didnt work, the disk I/O was so poor it wouldnt be able to cache, which would also explain the error that flashed up too quick to read.
I built a new disk using AID last night (piece of piss as always), but the only thing i'm missing is the save games for the Godfather which cost me 2 weeks of my life.
Does AID carry any kind of game exploit or something that will allow me to skip certain levels in a game?
If not, then its a hunt for came codes.
Thanks for the help.

The closest thing that your going to find is the Xored trainer engine. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
