I was wondering if it is possible to copy the eeprom backup file to my action replay memory card so I can transfer it to my computer seeing as how I do not own a router and have no money for a crossover cable.

Never mind I found a crossover cable for fairly cheap though I do have one question about it. I know it is possible to connect my computer to the internet using usb but I wonder if can use both the usb and RJ-45(ethernet) port simultaneously to have two active connections. If this is possible can connect the crossover cable to the ethernet port on my cable modem and hook it up to the RJ-45 (ethernet) port on my xbox?
Please note that if my method above works please just inform me of that seeing as how my method below is a little bit complicated.
If it isn't possible to connect the crossover cable directly to the XBOX I wonder if my old DSL router would be of any use. My idea is if I hook the crossover cable up to the port where it says LAN WAN wouldn't that give the router an active connection regardless of no phone cord in the DSL port. If it is possible to use a DSL router and a crossover cable can I hook an ethernet cable to another RJ-45(ethernet) port in the router and then connect it to my XBOX?
If one of my two methods work that would be great but my last question is do cable companies generally give out crossover cables or ethernet cords to hook up to the pc?

I think this is somewhat on the right track for it's a question I was thinking of just this morning. So one is going to softmod and install a new big ol' badass hard drive, can one copy the eeprom on to the USB with the other softmod files like Knave etc... and pull it over to the new hard drive? _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

In the SID menus you have access to the file manager, so you could use the "Backup Eeprom" method, putting the eeprom in E:\UDATA\218...\000000000\Backup. All you would need to do is use the file manager to copy from there to whatever drive letter the memory card is assigned to and read it back on the PC. That way you could upgrade without having to do a comple softmod first. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
