Posted: Mon Oct 23, 2006 1:06 am Post subject: I could use a little help on my softmodded xbox...
alright let me start from the beginning.... i soft modded my box with krayzies ndure installer... i had it working great and then i deleted some files that caused my ms dash to go to crap... well anyway, i FTP a friends ms dash to my C drive and I have it up and working again but I still can't get on xbox live with my box... won't even try to connect at all!! so i tried loading up the SID 4.0 softmod and when i get to backing up my xbox and stuff, it wont' backup my ms dash or anything and saying that I have an already softmodded xbox... but then i try to uninstall the softmod and it won't let me.... so i turned to the AID 3.0 option and I follow the instructions and even looked at the forums on how to set it up right... I burnt the .ISO file onto CD-r's and DVD-r's and my box wont' read any of those discs.... can someone help me out please! i just want to play xbox live again!

you need to start from scratch, just uninstall the softmod completely, then remod, if you dont have the ms dash in a backup folder on you xbox ftp it before hand, if you cant and your not able to load aid then do a hotswap, then reinstall the softmod using sid4.5 _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com

so yeah hotswapping might be my best bet then... I've tried everything it seems like cuz I can't uninstall the softmod... could I just FTP to it and delete the files manually that way?! or will that just mess things up worse?!

not if there is a virtual c drive, you will need to complete ly delete the hdd
back up your eeprom, then just use xbhdm to rebult the hdd, and relock it _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com

so to do this xbhdm... I will need to make an iso file and burn that to a cd?! and I get lost right there at that point... Im just half tempted to sell my box for a couple bucks to someone that knows how to fix it and buy another box haha... this stuff can be stressing at times... but ya, if you have like msn or something could ya hit me up and kinda talk me through it?! otherwise Im afraid that I'll never get it taken care of....

Yes, you burn it to a CD, reboot the PC, and the pc should then boot from that CD you burned.

i just keep gettin some error about my primary master....
