I'm pretty sure I missed something when trying to install XBMC dash from AID 3.10. I ran the SID 4.5 softmod, then booted the AID disc. Backed up C, and chose the 1-click install for "Softmod Users (SID 4.5)", then "Setup with XBMC Dash". I got a message saying I need to unmount Virtual C, so I went and did that, but after the reboot I got only a blank screen. If I eject the disc at that point, I get a weird "call customer support" error with a big white "21" on the screen. Any ideas what that's all about?
So I power cycled, and re-ran the XBMC dash install without the unmount step, which seems to have installed the app, but apparently not as a dashboard, since I still get EvoX when I power up. How can I get XBMC to be the dashboard?
I'm new to all this, any help is definitely appreciated,
ZM

Try to do the "Install E Drive Dash (Soft)" for XBMC, that should replace evoxdash.xbe _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

That did it, thanks for the quick help!
By the way, now it looks like I have 2 installations, one under E:/APPS/XBMC, and one under E:/XBMC, is it safe to assume, I can delete one of them? I'm assuming one got installed when I tried to install XBMC as an app instead of a dash.
Thanks again

Yes, delete the one in E:\Apps\XBMC, as thats the application and not the dashboard _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

I'm looking to have XBMC as my dash too. I haven't downloaded 3.1 yet, I was using 3.01. I was using UnleashX as my dash and chose the One-Step install for XBMC. Upon reboot, I got the error that says to press A to restore the backup dash and it does it over and over again. Oops, guess I broke it. I'm getting ready to put a 40GB HD in there to replace the stock, so I want to make sure I have the steps correct:
Use Xboxhdm 1.9 to make a retail HD (I have the latest MS-C from pirrup)
Sign up for Xbox Live (I never have, but want to!)
Run SID4.5 from Splinter Cell, dual-boot mode
Run AID 3.10 (not 3.01!) and choose the One-Step Install for XBMC Dash
Is that right? The parent of this thread said he used the One-Step for XBMC as a Dash and it didn't work. Do I have to do a One-Step UnleashX Dash and then boot from AID 3.10 and installed softmod dash XBMC? What's the best way to get a freshly softmodded HD to have XBMC as the dash? _________________ Xbox 1.1, SID 4.5, AID 3.0, Stock HD
