Ok, so here's the story:
I have two xboxes, one being a 1.1 and other other I'm not sure, I believe it to either be 1.1 or 1.0. On the other xbox, we'll call it the 1.0 for now, I had the retail Hdd which I had softmodded. I then purchased a 160GB Hdd, which I had installed into this 1.0 xbox with xboxhdm 1.9 by making an iso out of the retail Hdd, and using that to create from scratch the xbox Hdd on the 160GB. So far so good. I set aside my retail Hdd for later use. I then purchased my 1.1 xbox, and installed a DuoX2 GS Cromwell modchip successfully. I later decided that I wished to put the 160GB Hdd into this xbox, as this one is mine and the 1.0 is technically my brothers. The 160GB Hdd works just fine in the 1.1 xbox as it has the modchip. When I went to put the retail Hdd back into its original xbox, the 1.0, it gave me error 9. I tried to rebuild it with xboxhdm 1.9, but I am still getting error 9. I don't think the Hdd is dead, as when I connect it to my computer I am able to lock and unlock the Hdd, and to rebuild the Hdd from scratch, etc. I've also tried rebuilding the C partition. After everything I try, I still get error 9. How can I fix this? _________________ 1.1 Xbox

09 could be caused by a bad IDE cable, a bad connection along that cable, or the HDD set to slave/master. So try a different IDE cable if you have one, and check to make sure the disk is set to cable select.
I've also gotten 09 when the file partition table got corrupted, so try completely deleting the partition table and rebuilding from there. You could even unlock it, format it with windows, and run some of the windows HDD checking applications. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
