Post subject: Fixing Xbox Controller...

Ok so, I have a controller S that was broken and i took it apart, used one end to make myself a xbox usb. I opened the controller and found out that the wires were burned the red and black ones. As i have made the usb female, i want to solder the usb male to the xbox controller itself. Inside the controller, i saw red, yellow, green, black, white normal wires. I know the yellow 1 would not be used in this case. However I also so saw a thicker wire in the controller where the rest of the wires connect to the board. This wire is located on the little white board to which the rest of the wires are, on the north side of the controller (towards memory card slots). I was wondering what this wire is for before i start my soldering. Please help me out...

my camera is 5.1 megapixel, when i bring it close to the thing it gets blurry. But i kind of just followed myself and it all worked out. Now the controller works... I now need the usb drivers, i think greven gave em to me so i will check it out.

This project was a big success. I successfully fixed a broken xbox controller, used the female usb end as my xbox->usb adapter. I would like to thank greven for all his help. After a long period of wait (finding a cheep usb extension, I have finally finished this project. I am happy to say that the adapter and the controller work perfectly. I used a hub while running xbmc and that works too. I was not able to understand how to make a usb flash drive work. Also, I was wondering if i could use usb remote with the xbox? I also have a wireless logitech usb controller, I want to know if this could work as well? What other usb devices can work with xbox?

oops. I decided to mod the controller s with jewel led mod. While performing the controller jewel led mod, i ran into a problem. I made the hole where the led were to go but found out that the controller wont close properly, the parts would not fit back into place. So I removed the leds. Now I ran into another problem. I had removed the jewel stick on thingy. It consists of a small plastic piece and a black sticker thing containing the X logo. I tried to hot glue these back onto the controller where i had made the hole but no luck, they simply peel off. I have not cut off the entire part where i have made the hole, only a part of it from the center. I want to now just be able to stick the pieces back onto the controller. Hot glue does not seem to work. Any Ideas on how i can do this?

lol no. silicone would keep it water-proof, but it won't bond it. Either superglue like greven suggested, or use some double stick tape.
