angelos lol. memory can also mean permanent storage memory can it not? RAM is part of CPU. Cpu gives it instructions and stores information on it. So when hellblazer posted upgrade memory and cpu, this is what i interpreted, that he probably meant upgrading memory in terms of hard drive space, and upgrading cpu in terms of ram. I have never heard of upgrading xbox cpu. I dont think the cpu can be upgraded, but memory (RAM) can be upgraded. Please correct it if i am wrong. _________________

a hard drive could technically be called non-volite memory, yes, but when your talking computers, memory is Ram.
and RAM is NOT CPU. Central Processing Unit != Random access memory. They work together, but they are very differnt.

You can't actually upgrade the level of processor, as far as I'm aware you can only replace it with one with a bigger cache. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

The CPU can be upgraded to the Tualatin Celeron 1.4ghz. But some games take advantage others don't, and some don't work well at all. That is why most installers who do this upgrade install a switch to control the CPU speed. You can but the MB seperately and most places will give you a trade in on your old mb. Then can run from about 185 to 299 dollars. An entirely modded box with the DreamX is about 399 to 400, but is completely reworked. DreamX by Friendtech is the best I have seen.

lol upgrading it would make it too costly. what are inexpensive, effective, yet easy mods that improve performance? _________________

A 10,000 RPM HDD with 4 case fans would help
You would really need to cool it down, those things get crazy hot.
Or I guess you could buy a solid state drives. Dunno if they are available to the public yet, or in standard PATA type. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
