Hi, i softmodded two xbox recently and i found that they would shutdown after 6-8 hours beeing on. I was wondering is this is normal behavior and if it is, is there any way to make it stay always on.

Thank You

A xbox is not really meant to be left running 24/7 and why in the world do you want the xboxes left running?

Well that is true that they are NOT meant to be running all the time. But it could be a setting possibly, or getting to hot.

If XBMC is your dash go into the system settings and turn off the auto shutdown timer. Also, check your MSDash settings because it does have an auto off feature as well. MSDash kinda rules all.

vcarriere, trust me, take hellblazer's advice. Xbox should not run all the time. If you want your xbox to last and have a longer life, minimize the time it is on while its idle or whatever. The thing heats up fast, if you have xbmc, you will see what i mean. I am trying to figure out a way to design a vent system, to keep the xbox cool. Three fans on left bring in air, while the three on the right remove air. Once its done, i will make some tutorials. Also, in xbmc, you can increase the fan speed.

if you want the xbox to run all the time, I would put it in a pc case and make a water cooling system, that would extend the life of the xbox and it would look cool too.
