Im currently using SID 4 and im thinking about upgrading to SID 4.5 for the things like being able to configure my account and stuff like that, but Im wondering whats the easyiest way to upgrade?
Uninstalled SID then delete gamesave put SID 4.5 and run?

Use AID to upgrade to SID 4.5. Just go to the sofmod section, tell it to "Unmount virtual C drive" then once it's rebooted, go ahead and uninstall the current softmod, then install the mod via AID. If you don't have your XboxLIve account on the box yet, and the box has never been on live, you'll need to unmount the virtual C, then go back to "Install Dashboards" and install MSDASH 5960. Once that's done (make sure the SID files are on your Gamesaves) shut off the xbox, turn it on, and create your xbox live account. once you've done that, then you can re-mod with SID 4.5. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

When it uninstalls the softmod, DO NOT REBOOT (you still reboot after you nmount, BUT NOT AFTER YOU UNINSTALL) when it asks you to, just go to the softmod you want to install and tell it to do it. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

I know Im going to go offtopic a little but does that mean some day for any reason I might decided to change my C: back to retail, SID will not automaticly Unmound the Virtual C? Like once I click uninstall is it completley uninstalled with hardly no trace?

Nope, you have to unmount the virtual C partition first. It is one extra step, then you uninstall. After that it is back to stock and nothing could detect that it was softmodded(except, perhaps, doing a direct HDD read). _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

I'm confused by your question. If you install 4.5 with AID, it will install everything itself, so it will copy files over. If you are talking about copying over a gamesave, then no, since it is already exploited you don't need to do it again.
If you want to make sure your HDD and xbox are safe, backup you eeprom.bin file to your PC, that way you can unlock and reconstruct the xbox if needed. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Basicly i was asking If I install through AID will I still have all the options e.g Dual Boot ect like will it go streight to the game save interface or will it look diffrent then if I use the save game, also I noticed it says unmount virtual C: for SID 4.5? Does this mean it might not work or that it will unmount for it to install?

Yes, the install from AID has the same end result as from the game exploit.
I don't actually know that SID4 has a virtual partition. Try unmounting it and see if anything happens, it won't hurt anything _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Okay So I unmounted my virtual C: and now I can see things like eeprom.bin in there and shadow.img or somthing and I think this means now its unmounted. So I go into Mechassualt (game i installed with) go into save click uninstall, then take out the disk and put in AID?
EDIT: I just restarted my xbox and went into unleashx file explorer and now the shadow.img is not there anymore and neither is eeprom.bin

Uhh, no.
You unmount the partition just like you did so you can see the shadow.img file from within the AID menus, and then follow angelos instructions in the second post, you 'll be wiping and installing fresh. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

What do you mean by that?
Anyway so basicly I go to AID Unmount C:, then insert the game i used to mod go into SID 4 click uninstall. It uninstalls then dont restart and put the AID disk back in? Also can I also go into AID unmount C: go into save then uninstall. Then my Harddrive should be stock and I could use the SID Gamesave? PSST I want you to reply if im going to do it right or fuckup my xbox

I did everything you said I went into AID then Unmounted I inserted my Game disc but theres one problem there is no way to launch from the AID disc. So im stuck right there without a way to launch Mechassualt without restarting

*sigh* follow these instructions to the T. (this is assuming SID 4 is still installed)
1. Pop in AID.
2. Go to softmod menu
3. Unmount virtual C and allow the system to reboot.
4. Go to "Install Dashboards" and install "MSDash 5960" This will wipe your C drive (thus removing the softmod) and install a FRESH batch of the enwest MSDash build.
5. DO NOT REBOOT
6. go back to the softmod menu.
7. Choose "Install SID 4.5" and follow the onscreen prompts.
There, that simple, you're good to go.
Now, if you uninstalled SID 4 and rebooted, then you need to use a memory card to get the game save exploit (for SID 4.5 you can fidn it in the AID download package under "TOOLS") back onto your hard drive. Then run the exploit and install that way. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
