Hi,

My Samsung DVD (for Xbox) doens't read CD-R support ... only CD-RW & DVD-R/DVD-RW

what can i do to read CD-R support??
i've tried over than 100 CD-R and only 1 ( a princo CD) it had read correctly. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I really don't know the reason for your Samsung woes. I have a Samsung and it reads everything I throw at it. There really is no sure way to tell why it won't read a specific brand of media.

Last weekend I modded two machines, both with the same DVD Drives. One would read my DVD+R autoinstaller and one would not. I am sure that the same thing happens to Thompsons and Samsungs.

Have you recently changed your bios? Not sure if that is a viable reason, but probably worth mentioning as I noticed that once I was able to get a different bios on the one machine that wouldn't read my media, suddenly it was able to read it fine.

i've never changed my Xbox bios (i've buy it 3 days ago)... i don't know what install and what's the better... Crying or Very sad

all i know is that it's a Xbox 1.6 version with aladdin XT 1.6


I've installed the media center, and i can read all type of files (lan with pc), but the DVD doens't read nothing with a CD-R support, while with CD-RW works great!


Anyway i need help to change my fan speed (it's lock on 20%), i want to encrease it to 100%. To do this, i need to change bios settings..
Can you tell me what are the best bios for my console ?
What program i can use to do it?

i've tried all the cd media ( Philips, TDK, SKC, Six, Datarex, ecc. ecc. ) the only format that reads it's PRINCO... Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad


Can i do anything to get my Samsung more compatible?
