what did you do to it, stick the cord in a drill and turn it on?, you have to get a new controller. There could be hundreds of breaks anywhere in the cord.

I had an xbox controller that was exactly like that. In fact, the cord i use for FTP is just like that. First unplug the controller, and you just kind of twist the cord so its straight. First start at the controller end, and work your way down.

what you'll have to do is open up the controller and replace the cord at the PCB board (it's acutally just a white USB Motherboard plug.) You might be able to use a standard USB motherboard cable, splice that onto the breakaway and you should be good. You just won't have breakaway functionality.

ive never had a problem with needing breakaway, so that would work,

but another thing, i had a standard microsft controller that stopped working on me, it wouldnt connect, so i went in ad took out the aread where it goes into the xbox, and replaced that, and it worked fine, so maybe try sumthing like that first

Hey angelos, i like your idea. The controller is still sitting around. I am actually waiting for a usb extension cord. I will use the female usb end to create a usb adapter. I am basically combining your solution to greven's idea. I am going to cut about an inch of wire along with the breakaway port (controller side). Attach a usb female here. Then use the rest of the usb cable to put in the controller replacing the tangled wire. So the controller will have a usb male at the end of it which i can attach with the female and use the controller itself Smile

I also want to use the usb adapter to connect other usb stuff. Like a flashdrive, or a small hub..etc... Another thing is the xbox controller can be used on the pc. Have the drivers, thanks to greven.

Also thanks to you, my xbox controller may have hope lol.

Here check this out......

POST any comments , good idea or bad idea ? Will it work or not? Post anything that you think i should know.....
