Ok, I've never flashed a new eeprom before cause I've never had a banned xbox before, but here I am. I'm not completely new to flashing eeproms because I've been reading about it alot, so you aren't dealing w/ a total noob. So just to set things straight, to get my xbox unbanned w/o worry of it getting banned again (disregarding the fact that it's modded) I need to aquire a virgin eeprom from the same version xbox (1.4) along with a HDD key that goes with that eeprom, unlock the hdd and relock it with the new key and then flash the actual new eeprom? Because I have been reading that it may also require a totally new hard drive. Thanks for any considering of helping me.

When you get banned, they ban your eeprom and your HDD key. So you have to have both replaced or else you'll just get your new eeprom banned as well. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Well yeah I was aware of that. What I asked was whether or not you just needed to change the HDD Key of your current banned HDD or completely replace the hard drive with a totally new one.

You can't change the HDD key, so yes, you need to replace the drive. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

well there is a way to change the hdd key, from what I've been told, im still researching it, it maybe a possibilty that a program will be released to do this. But for now, you have to change out the hdd all together. _________________

Oh. I was under the impression that any hard drive, including the Xbox stock hard drive can have it's HDD key changed if you have the ability to unlock it. All well, that's all I really needed to know. Thanks guys.

yes it is possible, a friend of mine completely rebuilt the firmware for my hard drive so it would make ms think it was tthe original he put the serial number and info from the old hdd in the firmware for the new hdd same brand just bigger, and i havent got banned yet, ms still thinks the xbox is stock lmao, he is a firmware guru, im trying to get him to make a program for us, so that this will be possible for everyone, so we can end the need to reflash eeproms and swapping out the old hdd. _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com
