After installing the aladdin xt chip and finding that all it does it cause trouble, i took it out and bought another more expensive chip. But after unsoldering the chip using the right tools and everything my xbox says it requires service call customer service. Will the new chip fix this or am i screwed? What can i do? Thanks

It depends on the service error your getting, but, probably.

Which chip did you buy to replace the Aladdin?

That usually means DVD-rom errors. Check that you have the power cable and the IDE seated properly.

You can use a program called chimp to upgrade your HDD. You connect the two drive inside the box and it copies over.

Try download AID3, it has the program as well as instructions on how to use the program.
