there are 3 more torx screws you have to take out in order to move the dvd drive over to see if there is a mod chip.

yes disconnect them, trying to move the dvd rom drive while they are still plugged in can stress the connections. _________________

you need to remove the HDD in order to get the DVD drive out.

I removed the ide cable and such the first time i opened my xbox, but now its just a matter of lifting the HD, and pulling out the DVD drive so the front is facing away from the front of my xbox. Then i put my HD back with no cables unplugged
