I have an X3 for version 1.0 I flashed the chip and it went from Flash3.03 to FlashBios Cromwell asking to flash again. When I flash it says BIOS update found then unknown flash haulting! The switches are set correctly and the Flash protect is disabled what am I doing wrong?

Do you have the flash protect disabled on the chip and on the dip switch panel? I've had the same issue.
If that doesn't work, try going to another set of banks to see if it will make a difference.

Yes both the chip and the switch tried another set of banks no such luck and the xecuter control panel's led is displaying nothing. All lights ont the Xaptr are on and the xbox will flash from 3.03 but then boots to a blank screen. If I hold down the white button I get the cromwell screen. Any other suggestions? I've smoked myself down to one lung

If there are no lights at all on the switch panel, then it may not be connected right, or may be broken, so it may not be letting you specify the proper banks. If your trying to load a 1mb X3 3294( and I hope you are ) then it may be trying to flash it to a 256k bank. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

I'm flashing via CD the lights on the switch panel work but the LCD doesn't not a big deal as of right now just tryin to get my chip to work. I flashed off on off off and on on off off both of which had the same result the version I'm flashing is 3.03 whre do I find others that may work I've tried almost all versions from this site to no avail

I tried flashbios3.03 and 3.01 changing the names to BIOS.bin with a dummy file of 1m each time

Lol, ok, I know what the problem is.
The bios that is loaded currently in your chip is flashbios.303.bin. This is the application with the blue screen that you keep seeing. Your basically flashing it with what it already has!
Flash it with x3.3294.bin or x3.3294.v16plus.bin if you have a 1.6 xbox. This file is the be-all-end-all of xecuter(or possbily all) bioses.

If you've downloaded AID3(and hopefully you have) you already have the file. Its in the folder thats extracted with AID3.

I'm kinda lost! Is it the main power button on Xbox flashes? Just the one colour? does it switch off after flashing?
After flashing the bios it powers on then off three times and then the main power(Eject) button flashes red then green the screen is blank and the LCD is blank and yes after the flash is complete the XBOx shuts down

Ok what you have is a Frag. That is caused by the Xbox turning on and having no dashboard usually.
