Im having trouble connecting my pc to the xbox with flashFXP or Core FTP Sad

The connection was working fine a few weeks ago but now flashFXP is coming up with a message saying:
"connection failed (connection lost)" & Core FTP says "Can't establish connection --> 192.168.0.2:21 @ Tue Aug 08 15:50:01 2006 An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"

I would appreciate if anyone who has had this problem or knows what it is could help me out.

Ive tried other file transfer programs and am getting the same message. The only thing i can think of is that maybe the evox settings are messed up.

Here`s my Xbox setting so you can tell me if anything is wrong.

If anybody can help me out i would be eternally grateful.

Cheers!

Ricky.

as that stands it will never communicate with the xbox.

192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0 -> 217.42.184.7 255.255.255.255
the IP addresses are not routable

do you have a broadband modem plugged into the pc?

post the settings for the pc network card and not the modem

From your RUN in the Start Menu, type cmd. That will open up the command (dos) window. Then type "ipconfig /all". You will see the list of address.
For the gateway, use the ip address of your computer, not the modem.

Right it`s gave me up

Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection

Media State: Media Disconnected
Discription:VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter
Physical Address: 00-16-EC-05-60-3F

So do i now put 00-16-EC-05-60-3F as the DefaultGateway on the Xbox & if so what do i put instead of dashes as it does`nt let you type in dashes (-) on the Xbox?

Thanks a million for all your help mate i really appreicate it Wink

That's a mac address. What you want is an ip address. You can give it one by entering it in the tcp/ip properties of the device.

From the start menu, go to your controll panel. In there, click on Network Connections. Right click on the connection used for your card and choose properties. You should see this.

Click on properties and that will bring up this window.

Type in an ip address and use the same for the gateway. The address can be anything you want i.e. 192.168.1.5 or 192.168.1.10
Once that's assigned, enter that number into your EvoX settings. Don't forget to save and exit.

on the pc enter an ip address in the range

192.168.0.X where X is a number between 3 and 254
keep subnet mask as 255.255.255.0 this will be inline with the xbox settings so they wont need touching Wink

Iv entered the IP 192.168.1.2 on the PC IP & Defult Gateway & the exact same in Evo X IP & Defult Gateway on the Xbox & still no joy folks Sad

When i try to connect via Core FTP it comes up Can't establish connection --> 192.168.1.2:21 @ Tue Aug 08 20:17:50 2006 (0-5)

Also windows keeps popping up with System Error: There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network?

dont enter the same number on each machine you cant have 2 machines with same ip address. now you've already changed it set the xbox to

192.168.1.50 keep the subnet mask the same at 255.255.255.0

ip addresses are meant to be unique Wink
