Hi I'm just curious to know whether or not the modded console needs to have a softmod or can I use one that has a mod chip in order to softmod another.

you can use an xbox that has a modchip to transfer the required gamesave files to ur xbox memory card, then use the card and the retail game disc to apply the softmod to ur unmodded box

hhmmm, what if I don't have a memory card, and none of my usb devices seem to work. I'm counting 7 devices up to now. Only one was recognized by xbox and was formarted. The rest only made the screen flicker briefly. The one that did work my pc would recognize after. lol
Is there a way to unlock the xbox HDD, drag and drop the files and then relock it. or how about a straight usb from the xbox to my computers usb?
Are there ANY alternatives at all that do not involve memory cards or usb devices or anything of that nature?

fit the modchip to the unmodded xbox, setup the files and put the chip back into the original xbox after you finished
