ok i sauldered a resistor on the red wire and the other leg of the LED on the black, plugged it all up and nothing.....

does the LED have a - and + or do u just solder 1 leg + and 1 -?

led's are polarized, the longer leg is positive, the shorter are negative

The IR leds should be exactly the same.

Can't say that I'ev used IR before, but isn't IR invisible to the naked eye?

IR leds are pretty much pointless in useing unless your making a remote control or making some kind of sensor.

Resistors do matter. IR has a forward voltage of 1.5v, and your source is 5v, just plug in you mA.

Do you mean UV or IR?

IR, well the dude at radio shack said they were blue, i get home and they are damn IR looks like ill be goin back up there, and i guess ill need new resistors. So, can sum1 tell me what i should get, resistors and LEDs? I ave ot go right now but i will be back tomorrow to check out what you say thnx for the help so far!

heh heh, reminds me of the time id thought id pull a fast one, and I asked for a flux capasitor(Back to the Future), they looked in the system for it, and couldnt find it, then they called thier warehouse, LOL it took them 20 min, then they got some one who knew about the movie lol the look on their face was priceless ha ha ha. They didnt know they were looking for a fictional time flux capasitor. Laughing Laughing Laughing
