I was trying to upgrade my hard drive, just to a 120 gb. I realized that none of the boot discs that I was creating were working, and that they would work in a friend's xbox who had installed the X3... (awesome chip by the way). He told me that it was possible that there was special software on the harddrive that fooled the Xbox into thinking that it was modded. aka play burnt games. but trying to get the box to boot off of a cd so that I could install a bigger hdd didn't want to pick it up. Anyone know what I could do as far as getting this damd thing to work with the bigger drive? Our APO has been shut down so I can't get anymore mail, and I still have a month till we leave. I still have some more time to get pnwned in halo2... lol.. I don't see any sign of a chip in the box, or anything that doesn't look like it should be there.
Thanks in Advance,

Well first we DO NOT SUPPORT THE ILLEGAL USE OF GAMES YOU DO NOT HAVE! Now for the other problem you have, As for the xbox not reading back up games, well you have to softmod your xbox (which is going to be supper hard for you being over there) and second it could also be your DVD drive (there are three and one reads all the others read some things ok) So did you ever softmod your xbox? That would be a mech, 007 game and an action reply setup?? If not then you would have to do this or get a chip. _________________ The mighty V6 Passat came to chew bubble gum and kick%^* and shes all out of bubble gum!

There are a lot of debates out there, as far as what is the easier mod. Softmodding versus chipping. I have always preferred the use of a chip. However, there are many out there that can softmod a machine in a matter of seconds. It's just a matter of getting the right equipment/software, and that goes for both modding methods.
I have always leaned toward chipping because to me it seems to be a bit more stable, plus I feel I have an easier time adding larger hard drives to chipped machines versus softmodded machines.
Decide which way you want to go and give it a try. I sold a lot of machines to people serving in Iraq. I did a few for a rec room (National Guard). I had to add U bolts and chains to them so they could chain them down in the rec room. I had Red/White/Blue LEDs in the controller ports and eject pcb with camo skins for the outter case. They looked real cool and the soldiers played the piss out of them!
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I can also give you my email address via PM. I don't want to post it on here cuz am afraid that a spambot of some sort will pick it up and I'll end up with all kinds of spam..lol. It's my hq username at comcast.net if that helps _________________ Xbox 1.4
