the file system is different, you should be aable to rename the fiels using a dash unless your using evox, well even if you are just pop in a copy of AID and use the file explorer to rename tem

also if you can access it with the xbox, then u can load a live version of linux Called xebian, it is based on the same filesystem as a xbox, get the live cd version, put hte xbox hard drive in the pc as master and pop the cd in, and it will load linux, and use it to access the hard drive, dont ask me how i havent used xabien in a long time, other then that use xboxhdm, it has a file browser on it you may be able to use it to rename files

Ok, d00d, windows CANNOT read an xbox drive. Your windows reads only FAT16, FAT32, or NTFS file systems. the xbox HDD is formatted in FATX, the only program in windows that can read from the drive is Fatxplorer, but it cannot modify the files at all, so it's useless to you.

If you're getting error 21, just boot up the softmod game (splitercell, 007:AUF, or Mechassault, which ever one was used for the original softmod) and cold boot it (pop the game in, turn off the system, then turn it on with the power button). Then relaunch the exploit (the savegame) and resoftmod. Simple, quick, and done.

it should just fix the "screwed" dashboard files. Like I said, if AID doesn't work, use your exploit game and resoftmod. And try UnleashX, it's more GUI friendly.

Well then, he's about piss out of luck without an xbox to work on it. Unless, m8, you have a chipped xbox of your own? Then you could just slap the hdd in there, unlock it, boot AID, and call it a day. Otherwise, you're going to need your boy's xbox to do anything of any good. Unless you have his eeprom files, which I"m sure you don't. But if you did, you could go ahead and make an XBHDM disc and load on a modded SID C drive. That could work. But then again, I'd feel more comfortable if I were you grabbing his xbox and trying to restore it the way I told you beofre.

If you're trying to keep the secret that you screwed your mate's box, don't. Tell him you messed it up, and you need his box to fix it. Then you're gold.
