So... how does a softmodded Xbox decide which dashboard to boot up when I turn it on? I'm trying to make XBMC my default dash, but no matter what I do, it boots up Evox. I installed XBMC as my default E: dash and UnleashX as my default C: dash, and when I put the AID disc in and go to "Boot C: dash" or "Boot E: dash" (or F or G), none of them are Evox. Yet that's what always loads when I turn the Xbox on. What the crap? I've done about 5 softmods before and never had this problem.

you are using SID 4.5....?

Do you have an AID disk...? (3.03 is best)

if so do a one clik install with XBMC dash and it will do it all for you mate.....

Quick and easy Very Happy

Yeah, that's what I've been doing all day. Maybe I didn't make that clear. When I use Auto Installer Deluxe to install a different C: or E: dashboard, it still loads up Evox when I turn the Xbox on. Any ideas?

Go to your C drive and change the name of the evox.xbe or default.xbe. Your xbox will auto boot to that then the next. Try that

the prob with that is you can't enter your MS Dash then it won't work that way.....

the best way is to do a clean install with XBMC dash that way you will not have any prob after.....

and i would go the One Click Install way my self Very Happy

if you rename your evox.xbe to default.xbe you'll get an error 21, then you won't be playing your xbox until you fix it.

Clear off your old dashboards via FTP or FileExplorer, to be safe, cealr everything but your UData and TData folders, and apps/games/music. Everything else can go.

Now, before you reboot, FTP over XBMC, once it's on your drive, look in the root of the drive for default.xbe. RENAME THIS TO EVOXDASH.XBE Reboot, and your Softmod will automatically boot that dashboard.

Well, I just deleted everything I was pretty sure I didn't need off of E:, then rebooted it to make sure it would still turn on. I didn't rename the evox.xbe or default.xbe (which I had already tried), but lo and behold, suddenly it worked. I don't get it, but I'm not going to complain. Thanks for your help.
