Hey I'm fairly new to the world of softmodding, but I have succefully upgraded one Xbox before. During my second one however I was plagued by problems. I couldn't get my eeprom file for a long time and then it suddenly just appeared.

Now I've done everything succesfully, including putting my data onto a new hard drive (as far as I can tell). But when I connect it to my Xbox, it gives me a flashing red and green light...

I've read around and I just don't see what the problem is. I did the exact same thing's as I did when I modded my last one. Any help would be amazing.

Alright, I think I figured some stuff out. I can lock and unlock my hdd easily. But when it's locked, I get error 5!

As far as I can tell, this means I have the wrong eeprom file.

But how can I get the right one?? I have the stock hard drive, which works and is fine. So I use the evoX dash to backup my files, which gives me an eeprom. That's what I'm using, yet it won't work.

Any help?

when you used evoX to backup, did you find your eeprom in C:/backup. if not then you didnt back it up right. in evox dashboard go to settings and backup, you eeprom should now be in C:/backup when u ftp your xbox. and another thing that ppl always get confused on is when they use techfreak, it tells them to TYPE in YES instead of just Y in xboxhdm, well in the LOCK AND UNLOCKING park when it asks you "are you sure you want to lock" you only type Y not YES.

I backed up through the evoX dashboard and found the eeprom in C/ backup. I went ahead and tried it again, and ended up with the same code.

I definately am locking and unlocking I understand the whole yes/y thing.

So now I'm out of ideas again. Thanks for the initial help, but do you have any more ideas?

for sid 4.5 the real eeprom is in E:\UDATA\21585554\000000000000\ use that one to lock the harddrive as the one on C:\ is fake.

i used config magic to backup just my eeprom and it saved the files to E drive then you just need to rename them from EEPROMbackup.bin to EEPROM.bin......

it worked well for me hope it dose for you.. Smile
