For anyone to completely answer your question, you need to let them know what size HD you have in your machine.

The retail drive is 10GB.

The X,Y,Z drives are baffling to me because I can't find any use that they have regardless of the sized HD.

The C drive holds your dash files.

The E, F, G drives will also fluctuate in size. They can hold your hacked Dash (F Drive) and all of your apps (F Drive) and you can store music, videos, games, whatever you want on E, F, G.

If you have Evolution X running as your dash, you can see your E, and F drive sizes right on the menu/skin.

You can also use your FTP program to find the properties of each drive.

The X,Y and Z drives on your xbox are for CACHE.. XBoX Games/Apps copy alot of files from the DVDROM to these directories to make the game experience and loading times alot quicker.. Files, movies or audio that are used all the time by a game or application are normally copied into one of these partitions.

Heres a example.
Surfing (really old game and cant remember the exact name)

It copies all the .bik movies files and intro movies to the cache partitions on boot.. If you copy SURFING onto a DVD-R or CDRW and then play it in your xbox you will notice after playing it you will have some TEMP FILES..

Anyway, just hope that explains it for yas..
