Hello there

Basically i'm stuck i've been searching the internet for the last couple of days trying to find out why i can't ftp between my xbox and pc so i can install a bigger hdd. I've definatly got a crossover cable, which is just going straight between my pc and xbox.
My xbox is a v1.1
I've installed a xecuter 3 ce mod chip which is working fine.
X3 dash build 3294
My settings on my xbox are:
DHCP: Disabled
IP:192.168.0.3
Subnet:255.255.255.0
gateway IP:192.168.0.100
Set dns1 0.0.0.0
Set dns2 0.0.0.0
FTP Login: x3
FTP Password: x3

The settings on my pc are:
IP:192.168.0.2
Subnet:255.255.255.0

The settings in flashfxp are:
IP.192.168.0.3
Username xbox
Password xbox

When i try to ftp between them in flashfxp i get the following:
Connecting to xbox>IP=192.168.0.3 PORT 21
Connected to xbox
220 X3-FTP Server ready
USER xbox
331 Password required
PASS (hidden)
550 illegal login
Connection failed

I've checked and my firewall is turned off
I've made sure that passive mode is turned off

So now i'm proper stuck with whats wrong and i have tryed searching. Question

It's got to be the password. Try all lower case xbox since that would be correct. Otherwise, all your settings are working properly.
Check the password set in X3 dash build 3294 and make sure it's either set to xbox or it isn't set to something else.

Cheers for the reply, i've been typing xbox in as the password in lower case and theres no password set on the dash, do you know if the xbox hdd has to be unlocked to acces it or whether theres a way i could install my new hdd without using ftp?

Change your IP by one # I have had problems with this before and changing it and rebooting it does the trick if not...

Why not go to the dash settings you are running now and change the password back to xbox, xbox. As for the HDD without FTP....When you install a new one your dash will have all the org settings which you will need to change back to ftp your xbox again.

Also you must have a AID3 disc this will save your life and time..I now have to installed as an app in my F drive so I always have it Very Happy

Just make sure you keep us up to date if you fix the issue, as one persons problem/solution is another persons 3 hours/patience/hair.

Hi, bit of an update,

I tryed installing a few diffrent x3 builds,

3294
3238
3108
3029

NONE of these would let me acess the live config bit via holding down the white button, I then tryed using,

X3 Build 2913 Which works!!!!!!(password to get into live config was 'xbox' then hold the white button down and your in).

I then thought i'd try ftping between the xbox and pc using the exact settings i was usuing before, which did'nt work I then tryed putting the username in as x3 and the password in as x3 as suggested and it worked straight away.

Thanks for all your help, now i'm going to try putting in my new hdd which should be interesting Confused

Sorry about this but i'm well confused about installing my hdd, so far i've made a copy of my e and c drive to my computers c drive (backup is in c)
I've got aid3 on a disc and that loads up fine.

What i need to know is do i now just put my new hdd in the xbox and boot it up with the aid3 disc in the drive? Theres so many diffrent guides on the net saying diffrent things i'm lost as to which one to follow Confused
