I just modded the xbox using mechassault and a run linux game save. I did the following, in this order: made ms backup, made mod backup, installed softmod, installed evox. When I turn the xbox on, it loads to the dashboard like it should but when I put an AID disc in the screen says "no disc" I have discovered that it says this with all game backups as well. The original games still work. How can I get the xbox to read the discs?

More then likely its a media issue.. You need to find the right media for your xbox dvdrom drive.. Every xbox has a different xbox dvdrom..

some softmodded boxes will not read or recognize cd's for some reason..........i have 2 boxes here, 1 will read cdr, the other 1 wont entertain them.................

find a decent brand of DVD-r and stick with them, thats what i do.
DVD-R's are so cheap nowadays i use them for everything even bios flashing on my Xenium Gold.
Most xbox dvd drives wont read CDR
