Ok so i failed to put aid 3 on my xb so i bought a hard drive from some one with everything on it so i all have to do is transfer the info from one hd to my larger hd right?
but when i boot up the normal microsoft dash comes up and goes straight to the xbox live update screen where it gets stuck, as its not connected to live it comes up with unable to connect press ok, it sticks on that screen and won't move away from it, i try to cnnect it to live and to hell with m/s and it freezes there instead, i have a 160 westgate hd, a xenium gold 24k chip and a v.1.6 xb with samsung dvd drive. if this helps?
the chip seems to work fine on its own, when i try to add a new item i have to go into flash and not the hard drive as it tells me that it is currently disabled whilst more testing is done( and yes it is locked/also tried it unlocked) and when i try to access through the flash it tells me that the file doesn't fit.

was the hard drive unlocked when you got it if its wwsnt then you have the person you got it from put it back in thier box and unlock it

the chip is unlocking and locking all my hd's i shall email the bloke that i got the drive from but i doubt that i'll recieve an answer tonight

the drives are all unlocked before they were removed from xbox hd upgrades.if its any help to you the hard drive was formatted and installed on my xbox running executer2 chip.
this is the response i got from him.
i am now thinking that i either have a dud box or a dud chip most likely the latter, think i shall have to start saving my pennies and just get a 360 rather than waste any more money or time, are they backwards compatable?
