There's a quick tutorial for adding LEDs. It's very very easy to do.
I suggest using two LEDs for each port and one resistor. You need no wires, just bend the LED legs to the resistor and ground wire on the port itself.
I use a little glue gun and glue to hold the LEDs in place.
Here's one of my machines. Very simple case mod. I used a MS Crystal case, popped a X3 CP on it. Then just put blue LEDs in the ports and around the Jewel. I faced the LEDs outward around the jewel instead of inward since I still have the factory jewel in. I also changed the LEDs in the eject/power pcb so they were blue as well.

I'm just about to start a new case painting/mod/etc, so I'll join in. Keep in mind that I suck, as I've only done 2 before, but it will be fun to participate. Just need details on whats required, what we're allowed/not allowed to do, etc. I assume paint, lights, plastic modification... anything else? Are we going to include LCD screens, controllers, cables, connections, etc?

This is going to a no holds bar cage match, anything and everything that you want to do is up for grabs, I'm personally not doing an lcd screen but i dont know what impwiz has up his sleeve. We are OFFICIALLY starting on monday, but you start before if you want. The only requirement in the competition is that you must do your best to document your work via updates on a post and pictures if possible so that we can have some complete Work In Progress posts in our case modding forums ( we really dont have any ).
