I did the splinter cell exploit and softmodded my box. Everything was great until I told it to put the MSdash back on it. Having not done enough reading, I of course made the thing go into an error 21. Did the hotswap and got it going again. Thanks for all the great info on that! Before I did the hotswap however, I ordered a modchip thinking it was the only way to fix the thing. When it gets here, my question is, when I install the modchip, is the softmod being in place going to be ok, or will i have to revert the box back to stock conditions before installing the chip?

If it is solderless you can just pop it in and let it run. It wont hurt anything really. You will just have a softmodded dashes and the chipped dash and s**t too. If you have another xbox, just softmod that one and put the chip in your recently fixed xbox. Then you will have 2 xboxes modded.

Cool. Yeah since the softmodded box is working I was thinking of hitting up a pawn shop or something to find a cheap box to throw the chip into. Plus I've been wanting to do a case mod anyway. Thanks for the reply.
