Ok, Im quite new to this, so forgive me!

I just soft modded my xbox yesterday with the splinter cell exploit and today I downloaded AID 3.0 and the 3.1 update. I followed the guides and manual word for word to update the iso using the updated and burn the DVD using dvd decryptor, but the DVD wont boot on my xbox. I just get 'unknown' every time either cold booted or through the evo dashboard. Now Ive burned it twice on two different brands of DVD on the lowest speed with DVD decryptor and neither of them work at all.

Anyone got any idea what Im doing wrong?

Hmm, dont know anyone else with an xbox, so I cant try that.

All Ive tried to play on my xbox are official games and audio cds and they all work fine.

Just checked, it doesnt seem to like copied dvds either. I guess my laser's buggered. Should've guessed it wouldnt work on my machine! Dont have much luck with this kind of thing.

what kind of dvd r did you use? the + or the - and what brand? 2) you can use those dvd laser cleaners. basicly you put it and in will do a count down of 10 secs on the on screen and then say when its ready , sometimes it does the trick and sometimes it does not . also can you show me what settings you used on dvd decrepter? and do you have another iso program to burn ?

I tried it with dvd+r and dvd-r, 2 different datawrite disks and a datasafe one. DVD decryptor settings are default as far as I know. The only thing I've changed was to check 'verify' and I burned at 1x speed. I have nero as well, do you reckon its worth a shot burning it with that? Is + or - better in your experience?

What do you mean data disk? Its burned from the iso image so it will always be the iso image right?

well say you put these on the pc and if it reconises it as a saved iso then you burned the disc wrong . their is a diffrense between data disc and iso image file . try nero but as an iso image file

Well, I think I burned them right, I didnt ust burn the iso file onto a disk I burnt it from the iso image. But now I stick them into my pc it says the disk is currupt or unreadable!!!! Im gonna try nero and see if I get any more luck.

EDIT: I get the corrupt message when I try and read it on my pc after burning with Nero too. It seems like a dodgey iso (i get it with the original iso and with my updated one) but it cant be as it works for everyone else. Should I be able to read the files on it through a PC?

Oh and Ive run a laser cleaner and it doesnt make any difference.

EDIT2: OK, I got it working, it was my crappy dvd burner! I burnt it on a different burner and it booted fine. Thanks for all your help.
